Nancy Stadler-Salt


Nancy Stadler-Salt works for Environment and Climate Change Canada in the Great Lakes Issues Ecosystem Management Section. She started her career with Environment Canada in 1989 as a meteorologist forecasting the weather in Ontario.

Her interest in water lead her to change career paths in 1995 when she began work on Great Lakes issues, including being part of a small binational team who report on ecosystem conditions of the Great Lakes using a suite of indicators.

Since 2005 she has been the Canadian lead for state of the Great Lakes reporting. In 2012 this work became a commitment in the Canada-US Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.

Nancy has a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph, a certificate of Meteorology/Atmospheric Science from York University and is also a graduate of Environment Canada’s Meteorologist Operational Course. She is the recipient of a Citation of Excellence for her work on indicators and state of the Great Lakes reporting.
