Joan Nicks

Joan Nicks, Film Critic; Historian
Joan Nicks taught film and popular culture studies at Brock University. Co-editor of two anthologies, Slippery Pastimes (2002), and Covering Niagara: Studies in Local Popular Culture (2010), her forthcoming book is on Niagara’s lost movie theatres.
Joan programs film series for the Niagara Falls History Museum, and advises on film programming at the Performing Arts Centre. She has curated image projections for Chorus Niagara, and collaborates with the Gallery Players of Niagara on silent film events with live music.
